About Me

I'm just an ordinary person striving for balance in this chaotic world. Good health and spirituality don't mean sacrificing fun and enjoyment. Living your fullest life isn't daunting. You don't have to change who you are or give up what you love.

You can do this,  & trust me, no matter what your situation is, I can relate & help you through it.

Self-care with reading and healthy food

My Why

For over a decade, I felt "off".  I wasn't clinically sick but I definitely wasn't well either.  Back pain, gut issues, food sensitivities, stiff joints, brain fog, fatigue, anxiety - you name it,  So many doctors, tests, pills.  Nothing helped. Even worse, there were zero answers.  I had a mystery illness & I was feeling worse & worse as time went on.  I was told that I might just be too sensitive.  That it was likely all "in my head".  & for some time, I started to believe it.  I was frustrated, burnt out, & left feeling hopeless & helpless. Now, not only did I not feel well physically, my mental, emotional, & spiritual health suffered & I started to feel lost & confused.  I knew things were off & out of balance but I had no idea what to do or where to turn.  I had a hard time explaining how I felt & when I looked around it seemed like what I was experiencing was "normal".  Most people a bit unhappy & unhealthy, & to think that I could be the one to change that seemed insane & honestly a bit selfish. I mean everyone's struggling, who am I to think that I deserved better?

But I couldn't live like that.  Something inside me whispered that called to me telling me there was more.  That life wasn't meant to be endured.  We weren't put here to struggle or feel half alive & half on autopilot.  The word "vibrant" stuck with me & I was determined to fight until I felt it.  I craved a vibrant & joyful existence.  I wanted to live & love more fully.  I needed to break out of monotony & mediocrity.  I felt an unexplainable tug in my heart telling me that there was so much more for me & I wasn't going to give up until I found it.

So, I started to research on my own & explore holistic medicine, alternative therapies, & spirituality.  I searched for like-minded people & the right healers for me & thank God I did, because they honestly changed my life.  I got answers & direction.   I found hope in my soul tribe.   I slowly began to feel better all around in my mind, body, & soul.  I started to truly heal from my roots & I felt GOOD.  In fact, I felt better than I had in as long as I could remember & better than I ever thought I could.  On top of healing my physical health, I started the journey to heal my mental, emotional, & spiritual health as well.  I was able to re-ignite that fire in my belly & I set out to live a life that would always fan those flames.

Optimal health isn't just the absence of disease, it's a state of complete physical, mental & social well-being. Happiness isn't just the absence of negative feelings & stress, it's thriving in a passionately meaningful life.  It's living & loving fully & vibrantly.  It's pushing past mediocrity & believing there's more for yourself.  It's intentionally living life when everyone else seems to be settling for simply existing.  When I found out this was possible for myself I knew I had to spread the word.  Since then, I've been on a personal & professional journey spreading awareness that there is a better way.  That if you're like me & have a tugging at your heart that's telling you there's more, you can get there too.  I empower & guide others so they know they can find their own paths to true health, wealth, & happiness.  You can get there, & through the ripple effect, inspire others as well.  Let's change our worlds together.

4 Pillars to Healing & Transformation

Dig down to the root

Live in the sweet spot

Lay a solid foundation

Nourish mind, body, soul

       Dig down to the root

The taller a tree, the deeper its roots. A tree that wants to touch the sky, must extend its roots down into the ground.  The deeper the roots grow, the higher the tree branches can reach.  To rise upwards, we must also dig downwards to find & heal at our roots.

Live in the Sweet Spot: where these three elements meet

Holistic Health

Spirituality

Nature

Holistic health

A multi-dimensional approach to wellness that simultaneously addresses the physical, mental, emotional, social, & spiritual components of health.  It's treating the whole person. Taking into account more than just physical symptoms.  Optimal health is achieved through proper balance in life.  Holistic living is a lifestyle that nourishes and aligns your mind, body, & soul.

Nature & the natural world
Native Americans live by a concept called Hozho Naasha.  It means to “walk in beauty”.  To be in harmony with all living things & to live in balance with nature & a natural way of life.  Where you feel connected to everything around you. It's using nature, the seasons, astrology, simple living, for mind, body, soul alignment, creating an environment that sets the stage for true healing.

Spirituality

A spiritual practice is a set of actions done regularly with the intention of furthering your growth & development while deepening your connection to God or Divine Energy. Ex: prayer, walks in nature, yoga, meditation, breathwork, Qi-gong, & affirmations. Spirituality helps you live on purpose & with purpose, be more present, improve emotional & mental wellbeing, cultivate healthy

habits, & enhance personal growth.

Sweet spot

To get to great heights, we must do the groundwork to build & maintain a strong & broad base.

Become empowered through increased awareness & self-discovery.  Awareness is the first step towards change.  Gaining an understanding of yourself & your motivations, wants, needs, likes, dislikes, talents, & goals are vital to creating the life you've always wished for.  Clarity of your passions & purpose is necessary to pursue your dreams.

Without fully examining your why, you may be led into following the life path that others have set for you. When you live your life based on others’ expectations of you, it is hard to measure up. Your internal compass will always be pointing somewhere else, & this will cause you to never quite meet others’ expectations while at the same time, shortchanging yourself.  Life feels confusing & difficult without self-identity & direction. Through a true understanding of the things that make your heart sing & your spirit come to life, you will become empowered & know that you can take control & achieve peak well-being.  Knowing yourself is where the road of transformative healing begins.

The peak of the mountain sits on a solid foundation.  The wider & sturdier the base, the stronger & higher the mountaintop.  Without a supportive foundation, it would crack & crumble.

Clarity, direction, & planning

Self-discovery, awareness, & empowerment

Lay a solid foundation

Nourish your mind, body, & soul

Your mind, body, & soul are nourished with things that are both on & off the plate.  When we're not filling ourselves up with the right things, we tend to fill our plate & our belly instead to make up for the voids we feel.  To  maintain optimal nutrition & health, it's important to look at nourishment from a holistic point of view to truly address & satisfy the hunger in your heart & soul.

Off the plate: exercise, career relationships, social life, finances, creativity, spirituality, etc.

Man standing at the top of a mountain

Where Heaven & Earth Meet

The mountains have always been seen as sacred spaces to indigenous cultures - the Axis Mundi, where the distance between heaven & earth is the smallest. The vertical axis of a mountain drawn from its peak down to its base links it with the world-axis, which is identified as the heart of the world, thus connecting heaven & earth.

Standing on the mountain peak is believed to be the closest you can get to the heavens. That's what we're after at Mountains of Wellness. A feeling so incredible that standing at the peak of your well-being feels like you've reached Heaven on Earth.

FAQ
  • Who is coaching NOT for?
Holistic Coaching is not for individuals who are looking for a quick fix or a band-aid to immediately mask & cover symptoms or issues.  I will never make promises for overnight results because those types of results don't last & will never spark true transformation.
  • I'm still unsure about coaching - how do I know it will be worth it?
Coaching clients report a 99% satisfaction rate The average return on investment for coaching clients is 7X the amount spent 92% of entrepreneurs say that coaching had a direct impact on their growth & business survival rate 73% of people working with a coach report happier & deeper connections & relationships 30% of business owners who had just one interaction with a mentor reported both business & customer growth 57% improved their time management skills 62% of coaching clients say they improved their career opportunities thanks to coaching Coaching clients are 3X more likely to lose weight & keep it off when working with a coach compared to other methods 80% of coachees report increased self-confidence, self-esteem, & self-worth 75% of coaching clients improve communication, interpersonal skills, work performance, work/life balance, & wellness 96% of clients say they had such great success they would work with a coach again
  • Coach vs. a Nutritionist, Therapist, or Doctor?
Coach vs. Nutritionist A Holistic Coach is a supportive ally who helps people understand how to nourish themselves holistically & guides them toward their goals. A nutritionist focuses mainly on nutrition & diet. A coach does this as well but places a large focus on non-food forms of nourishment like career, relationships, physical activity, & spirituality too. Coaches also provide the accountability & support to implement changes & behavior shifts beyond what a traditional nutritionist or dietician is able to offer. Coach vs. Therapist Unlike therapists who diagnose mental health behaviors, a Holistic Coach offers valuable resources for getting through periods of challenge, anxiety, or fear related to worries that are outside general mental health concerns. Instead of diagnosing, they serve as an active & supportive listener who utilizes their training to empower & guide clients to discover their own challenges & solutions. Another difference is that therapists place a lot of their focus on one's past to examine unhealthy thought patterns & behaviors. While coaches address the past to dig down to the root cause, much of their focus brings a client back to the present & future to utilize strengths & make immediate lifestyle & behavior changes toward goals. Coach vs. Doctor Unlike a doctor, a Holistic Coach cannot order lab work, prescribe medication, or diagnose health issues. What they can do though is pick up where a doctor leaves off & offer much needed support & guidance to make nutrition & lifestyle changes that a doctor may suggest. Doctors unfortunately don't have the time to work with patients to develop & follow through with health plans, which is why the majority of patients are unable to make the necessary changes, ending up right back in the doctor's office. A coach can work with your doctor's recommendations to take the steps & implement changes that result in long-term, sustainable health improvements. Here's a simple example to illustrate the differences: Doctor: tells you that you’re overweight & need to lose weight to be healthier. Nutritionist: gives you a good diet & meal plan to implement. Therapist: diagnoses any underlying mental health issues & helps you to address anything in your past that has an influence on your beliefs & behavior related to weight. Holistic Coach: takes all of this into account & then helps you to identify goals & desired outcomes, make an action plan with realistic steps, & identify barriers & related tactics to overcome challenges while providing accountability & support every step of the way to ensure long-term success.

  • Holistic vs. Developmental or Performance Coaching?
At Mountains of Wellness, I offer personal & professional holistic coaching. This type of coaching takes aspects of performance & developmental coaching a step further to help clients truly transform. Performance coaching Externally focused & outcome driven. Aims to help clients work towards goals. Ex: A client changes what they eat to lose weight quickly. Developmental coaching More internally focused. A broader aim to help clients explore the knowledge & development they take away from coaching & the change that takes place while working towards goals. The intention is to create learning & growth from action. Ex: A client explores how to develop habits to change how they eat, sleep, & cope with stress to lose & maintain a healthy weight long-term. Holistic coaching Works “deeper” to change who you're being rather than what you're doing so you can reach your true potential. The focus is to help clients explore the root of their assumptions, beliefs, values, expectations, & personal attitudes that shape the experience of their internal & external worlds. It takes pieces of performance & developmental coaching & pushes it to the next level. Ex: A client addresses beliefs & mental patterns while nourishing & balancing mind-body-soul to become the type of person who naturally maintains a healthy weight, no matter the challenges or circumstances throughout the course of their life. All coaching starts with identifying a challenge, issue, or aspiration. The difference in holistic coaching is that rather than focusing purely on resolving/achieving a goal, it seeks to explore & heal what is at the heart of it to break down barriers, develop new habits, & then take action.

  • Who is Heart-Based Career & Biz Coaching NOT for?

They work with clients on self discovery, barrier identification, habit changes, mindset shifts, skill advancement, & the development of coping mechanisms & tools to overcome professional challenges.  Starting a soul-centered business or career path is one of the biggest self-development journeys you’ll ever embark upon. It's easy to get overwhelmed or worry that you may need to sacrifice your beliefs or values to get ahead. However, heart-based business practices offer a softer way to do business. A way to infuse heart & soul into your professional life & interactions. When there is an equal exchange of energy between a business & it's consumers, it feels different. • Who is mindful marketing for?
Mindful marketing is for holistic health, wellness, healing, art, & spiritually based businesses. Small business owners & entrepreneurs in alternative medicine, integrative healthcare, health & wellness, holistic therapy, energy healing, spirituality, & metaphysical industries. The helpers, healers, & creatives. The people who feel they have a professional passion or calling. People whose primary driver is to do good in the world. No matter the industry, you identify as a purpose driven entrepreneur & you have a mission & vision for your work. You want to positively impact the lives of others & the world at large. Everything in your professional life reflects who you are, the value you provide, & the change you want to see. However, as a heart-centered, purpose driven person, you likely struggle with showing up & sharing about your work. Common challenges like imposter syndrome, perfectionism, & fear of failure rear their ugly head when it's time to promote yourself. You may even find business & marketing tasks either a challenge or something you have no interest in or time to do since you'd rather be focused on your actual work - the calling you have. On top of that, you have the perceived misalignment & heart-wrenching internal conflict of wanting to truly serve but also wanting to make money, which can stand in the way of being fully-expressed in your business. But that doesn’t have to be the case. There is a way you can show up & share your message & feel good about it.
  • What is mindful marketing?
Mindful marketing is different from traditional marketing. It's softer. More pull than push. More about attraction & engagement than aggressive sales tactics. Instead of using manipulation or playing on audience's fears, this type of marketing is heart-based & seeks to provide benefits to your audience. Instead of putting profits at the center of everything you do, mindful marketing makes sure that your customers + their best interests are at the center. Marketing doesn't need to be intimidating or feel like a "necessary evil". When your brand & message align with who you are at your core, your marketing feels natural, easy, & fulfilling. Mindful marketing means: Allowing your authentic voice to shine through Creating messaging that's consistent with your values & beliefs Showing up in alignment with who you are Being truthful in any & all sales, public relations, & marketing content Focusing on activities that play to your natural strengths Providing value & truly serving your audience Marketing doesn't need to feel hard, complicated, overwhelming, or a waste of time & money. All it really takes to be a mindful marketer is to: Show up Share the value you provide Invite your ideal clients into offerings that can serve them It really is that easy.
  • Who is mindful marketing NOT for?
Mindful Marking is not for business owners who are trying to make a quick buck. It's not for entrepreneurs who are focused on making as many sales as possible, no matter the repercussions. Mindful marketing - marketing to truly connect, build sustainable & reciprocal relationships, & provide long-term benefits to their customers - takes time & effort to truly engage.
  • Why invest in marketing services & how much do I need to spend?
Marketing is one of the most important things an entrepreneur can do for their business & provides an array of benefits: Help your audience connect to the products & services that will benefit them Boost your sales Increase your revenue Communicate your benefits to your audience Manage your reputation Establish & build trust Reach more potential customers Build stronger relationships with customers Learn more about the marketplace Grow brand & product/service awareness Learn more about your customers Save time by increasing sales & reach target audience faster Improved brand loyalty More customer satisfaction Demonstrate brand value Costs The U.S. Small Business Administration recommends allocating 7-8% of your gross revenue for marketing & advertising. For a new business or one looking to grow, that amount should be increased to 12-20% of your revenue/projected revenue. How much are you currently spending & do you think that amount should be increased to reach your customer & revenue goals? Most importantly, what budget number are you comfortable with? Because if you are comfortable & aligned with your plan, that positive & authentic energy will be felt by your customers.
  • Why are marketing budgets nonexistent or 1st to get cut?
Nonexistent marketing Many small businesses don’t think they need to do marketing. In fact, around 37% of small businesses don’t even have a website to market their products & services. Business owners are either intimidated by marketing, afraid that marketing makes them "greedy", or feel that they’re just too busy & overwhelmed trying to get customers through the door to be bothered with “fancy marketing.” Ironically, marketing is a far more effortless & surer way to bring in business than any other activity. Cutting marketing budgets Marketing budgets get cut first because they are often viewed as non-essential costs. When times get tough, it's easy to look at your marketing budget as the easiest way to save money, but this is a big mistake. When a company completely cuts its marketing budget, it also reduces the chance of getting new customers & may reduce the amount of returning customers as well. When a company’s marketing activities completely stop, so does the bulk of its communication with its customers. This leaves customers wondering about the stability of the business & how much they care about customers, & eventually they can even forget about a brand altogether. Here’s what could happen without sufficient marketing: Your competition could overshadow you & your message You’re communicating a lack of brand stability & quality New customers won’t hear about your brand You’ll see a large decrease in business overall Eventually, your business could lose customers & without gaining new ones, have to shut down
  • How is marketing & business related to wellness & well-being?
As a purpose driven entrepreneur, you look at your business as much more than a job - it’s a calling & a significant part of your life. Your passion for your work is so strong that you often burn the candle on both ends, working long hours & taking all of the stress of your job home with you. Your personal & professional lives are so intertwined it’s hard to tell where one begins & one ends. Since you view your business as an extension of yourself, it's important to take care of it like you would yourself & your own health. A business should be looked at holistically, taking care of & aligning all of its mind-body-soul elements as they are all related & interwoven. Body - External physical wellness & well-being (profits, revenue, staff, & customers) Mind - Internal wellness & well-being (brand image, voice, tone, connection to customers & audience) Soul - Energy of business (mission, purpose, values, socially good processes, relationship of your business with others & the community) It's vital to make sure that your well-being aligns & that you care for both your personal & professional lives. For purpose driven entrepreneurs, owning a business is a true blood, sweat, & tears journey. Immense healing & growth can come from starting & growing a business that makes your heart sing & feels like your life calling.
